Igor…this blog..It still lives!!!
Im back….after an inexplicably long hiatus, Im back!…At least I hope so.
Its been a whirlwind of events in my life, that
truly swallowed the “blog-me” whole. But busy is how I like it…just a pity I havent yet developed the skill to know how to blog about it, as it happens…and let it keep happening. If you know what I mean!
I think someone out there needs to start a blog on how to blog and maintain this fast paced life of work, family quality time, me time, couple time, special mommy-and-me time with each kid, then special mommy-and-me time with BOTH kids…and quality time with my super special mom, my siblings, my sweet mother-in-law….not forgetting to be a good friend..*breathe*…and then still blog about it. Every week…
So aside from work that’s been chomping up my focus (it takes me an incredible amount of coaxing to get my brain rewired from soft n loving maternity-leave momma, back into sharp, methodical work-machine job mode again), Ive had a few highlights that have truly been keeping me on the trot. (and out of sleep)
Firstly, it was the baby shower for the latest edition to one of my brother’s family. I made a double layer cake and some cute cookies, that I intend sharing with you.
Theres been a mini mouse 2nd birthday party that I baked for, that Im also going to spill the beans on. Then there’s injuries on playground dramas at school, the drop in milk supply hassles I had, and the sleepless nights that followed to get it back up, the birth of my darling buddy’s baby boy – and all the joys and nail-biting moments of her pregnancy journey, our smallest beasty’s incredible development of milestones, the nervous journey of our toddler’s possible ashtma development, and finally that very same toddler – our first born, and always super special, darling girl’s – third birthday.
The party is this Saturday, so Im still in thick of party plan execution…so all the balls are in the air, and Ive nicely chucked in a Dora party shotput ball into that mix. Two if you count the school party we had.
But, do you want to know the truth? I’d be lying if I said I was hating it. This is pretty much how I had imagined my life with kids: busy, challenging, filled with perpetual chaos, home echoing with laughter, toy-strewn lounge, luxurious coricraft couches covered with small fingerpaint and peanutbutter handprints and loadsa fun…and baking. Lots & lots of baking.
Of course, all of that would be an entirely different conversation if I didn’t have the incredible and supportive husband, that I do. The best team mate I could have ever asked for in the game of Life, Parenting and Marriage.
Truly God’s gift to me…love that man..but that’s another story for another time. Right now, I just wanted to let you know, Im still alive and kicking. So watch this space for all the pix, and resource information coming up!
Haha love this post! can’t wait to hear more
