So we don’t have to do this. This whole Valentines day friendship gift vibe. There is NO pressure to do it. My kids don’t beg me to do it. (although now after years of doing it, and being involved in the whole process, they’ve now come to expect that we do it)…So,know that there there are zero external pressures on us to do these kind of things, but if there is a way I can show my kids small and sweet little ways to be kind and spread a little sunshine in an easy fashion to others, and thus help lay the foundations for gracious and thoughtful grown human beings in the future, then HELL YEAH I’m going to take the time to make little class Valentine gifts!
Yes, I’m going to take precious time I could have been vegging out on Netflix or catching up on old blog posts half way written, and instead, spend it getting cramps in my right hand from cutting out labels and helping my staple them to little trinkets that say, “HEY, YOU! You’re cool. I see you. I like you. And you’re awesome just for being you.”
And each year that passes (aka with each new baby we add to the brood), I try to make this easier on myself, because Lord knows the laws of time and energy do not cease to exist purely because I have a craft to complete. Nope. Still only 24 hours over here, and with a demanding career and 4 kids, that leaves little time to squeeze elaborate plans in. SO this year is another super easy one:
Yip. That’s right. What else can tickle the fancy and win the hearts of junior primary kids than unashamed potty talk!? So, Cupid’s Poop it is!
Right, I made this little label.
I have a download for you over here.
I found these gorgeous (and tasty) little heart sweets at Mambos. (yes, mambos! Have you seen their way interesting sweet collection? Im always browsing through there for holidays in mind)
I let the girls toss a few into little baggies.(also from Mambos)
I helped the girls staple it close and boom, you got yourself a sweet and easy little class mate valentine gift to hand out! (these pictured are using tape, as I had to go run out and buy staples still)
Classmate/Friendship day trinkets sorted!
I also have easy and useful teacher trinkets for V’day – may share them on social media later this week.
