It’s only three days out from our little Coconutty turning two years old (I wrote this on Sunday already), and you bet Im neck deep in the good old baby files. Its where you’ll usually find me slumped over in a sentimental heap whenever the birthday of any of our children looms. So, you should know by now, that I am a comic book lover/die hard…and Im not talking about being a pseudo fan here because I suddenly loved the movies that cropped up over the over years. (and there’s nothing wrong with that if you are) But I’m a bonafide fan from the good ol’ days where as a youngster I would tag along with my brother to go get the much anticipated latest shipment of comics, or rock up in town at crazy-o-clock in the morning, just to be the first at Reader’s Den, to get our grubby little hands on a 1st issue. So it goes without saying that I’ve also had a piqued interest in ComicCon all the years too (yes, Im a nerd and I cant lie)…In fact, to this day I still get super excited when I watch my US family prep and attend the cosplay events over there. Now, the highly anticipated Comic Con Africa 2019 welcomes the youngest member of the family to its spectacular four day offering, KidsCon!!

Guys, we did it! Can I get a halleluja! Despite the levels of insane exhaustion right now. In the face of the crazy schedules we have in our lives right now; with work mixed in with small babies, breastfeeding, pumping, big kids, and 3am-5am feeding sessions (Lawd, give me strength!)…we (finally) pulled off that do-over birthday celebration for our baby girl!

How’s the school holidays going for ya, over there, moms? You still rocking it? Gotta tell ya, this year Im walking a fine line. Im still fresh at being back to work after maternity and as such I’ve not taken off with them. As a result, I often have some seriously bored kids at home. So I’ve got to make the weekends really count with some fun, yet meaningful & substantive activities. Like the Cape Town Science Centre! They ALWAYS deliver!
We were recently invited by the CTSC, and after spending a glorious few hours in there, I’ve got to say that the science centre remains a wonderful form of entertainment & education for kids! It makes for a great day of fun, science, learning and imaginative play for all kids. Perfect for school holidays!
