…And when these snacks are sugar-free, gluten free, dairy free, and yet still crammed full of taste that kids (and adults) go gaga for…it’s an even a better idea!!! Kiddylicious makes it that you just can’t lose.
Now, folks, we’ve entered into the last week of school… and whilst I’ve not covered myself in much glory with the whole school lunches thing in the past, I have to say that I do start off strong. Every term. I go in gung-ho every damn time with visions of cookie-cutter sarmies, and matchy-matchy silicone cupcake molds that house only healthy wholesome snacks. But that soon dwindles the first week into school, till eventually I’m not even part of the lunch conveyor belt. At all.
Like honestly, this is the way I’d like to see myself…the happy to pack lunches mom, who never runs out of ideas mom, who does it all with that smile of my face…hmmmm…
But reality is….Mike has been the one rocking this all the years…
Yup, Mike takes care of all that.(While I ‘blissfully” sit in traffic on my way to work in the dark). But despite the demands of his own job, he still digs in and gets all lunches prepped and ready to roll in the morning. (And brushes hair and gets them dressed, and deal with all sorts of girly tantrums). The man is a saint – bless him.
So, I honestly do feel bad about the lunch situation – not that I don’t have my fair share of family tasks that I pull my weight on.
But I’d also like to think that it’s thanks to my guns blazing opening bat in the begining of every term that gets us off the ground with school lunches…And now that we’re coming to the final week of school, I wanna kick it into gear again.. you know, finish strong!
That way, I can totally gloss over the other weeks of absolute slothery and half-assed-ness on my part, and just skip right to the end where Im channelling my that deep-seated pinteresty lunch mom that’s been dying to break out…thereby hopefully fooling my kids into believing I actually rock!
And now, thanks to Kiddylicious, I can still half ass it, and still impress my kids!
I honestly just can’t seem to go wrong with Kiddylicious- every snack I pull out for the kids has them happy. And as a mom who has snuck in several taste-tests myself, I too have a few favourites. In fact, I thought I would only ever one favourite (the coconut rolls), but thanks to our generous friends at Kiddylicious, we got to try their whole range!
And, man they are good. They’re a perfect size for not only lunch boxes, but also fit perfectly in any diaper bag for quick family outtings…
Make great after swim treats that can be nicely tucked into a sports bag. And keep little sister busy munching while she waits on big sister to finish up in the pool.
Right now, our favourites have extended beyond just the coconut rolls. Which are made with coconut milk, and taste and have the texture of sugar cones – but without the sugar.
The veggie sticks which I was a bit skeptical about is Morgy’s favourite and tastes like Chipniks!
And whilst Coco loves the whole range, I love how it encourages her to finger feed herself. And because its all so non-messy, it’s a firm mom favourite for snacks on the go. Even though they’re not a filling snack, they do fill in as a delicious little treat. One that even your six month old can enjoy.
In fact, having your cupboard, lunch box, diaper bag or car cabihole stocked with these is probably the best thing . And to answer the number one question I got from my instastories about #kiddylicious, you can find them at Clicks and Baby City.
So go forth mamas and stock up on these yummy, yet healthy snacks that really are a no-brainer!
As for me and this last school week, kids’ lunches are going to rock! We’ll go out in style for the last school dress-ups (it’s wild west), and plan to toss our proverbial confetti on the beach front in celebration of the first day of holiday. Or I might just get realistic about my whole pregnancy that day, accept my back problems and instead just send dad to mission it on the beach.
Either way, here’s to all of us having a killer week! X
ps. just to note, only the cheese sticks are NOT diary-free.
