As a self-confessed sucker of all things celebratory and holiday-esque, it comes as no surprise then that we’re all hopped up on the Easter vibes, as we prep for the coming holy time. Although, I have to say, I use the word “prep” rather loosely in this case with Easter. Because, honestly, we, as a tiny family don’t do too much on our own here for it. Yes, we have the Easter baskets, and yes, we have a shebang of how the Easter Bunny has left footprints all over the home. And yes, we decorate our eggs, and find new ways of colouring them each year, and yes, we don’t let it go without our own throw of confetti that the King is risen. And yes, I make an Easter cake – because I want to. But other than that, we just hang around until we head to my mom’s.
I mean, sure we kind of do, do a lot in the way of tradition, but aside from all of the above and the basic brekkie we put together after the basket hunt, we’re just hanging in our Easter jammies, napping, and shoveling Easter eggs into our mouths, right up until till the 11th hour before we have to leave. So I decided, not this year! Nope, this year, I want to start making our Easter Breakfast a little more special in our own home – just like it used to be in my family home.
