Looking for really exciting ways to keep the kids entertained over the weekend, while also keeping your interests peaked? Well then, look no further than the Good Housekeeping BrightFuture Family Fun Day,happening next week Sunday, 10th April.
We, as most parents try to keep our kids fairly active and mindful of exploring their world around them, often doing things that they love on our days off. However, I don’t know about you, but Mike and I have fairly busy and demanding lives, and as much as we love doing it, it’s not always our cup of tea to spend our much-yearned-for weekends purely chasing kiddies up and down the playslide. What about us? Mom and dad need some fun too – so we’re always on the look-out for something that keeps us entertained just as much as the children and that we can really enjoy right along with them.
Enter the Good Housekeeping BrightFuture Family Fun Day, which really has something for everyone! Throw in the fact that you get to entertain the children with a FULL day of activities for only R20, then I would say you have yourself a pretty sweet deal right there.
Just think: wine tasting (yes, please), a classic car display (oh, be still my beating heart), mouthwatering food from some of the country’s best food trucks (who doesn’t love food trucks?!), fantastic live entertainment from two of South Africa’s hottest bands, GOODLUCK and TouchWood, not to mention wine being sold at cellar prices (HELLO!). And all set within the gorgeous surrounds of the Backsberg Estate Cellars, in Paarl. (One of my favourites! And they also happen to be SA’s first carbon-neutral wine estate.) Folks, can it get any better? More importantly have you booked your tickets yet?

As for the children, they have over 30 fun activities planned for the day, including a craft station, petting zoo, bouncy castles, special kid zones (6 years and under, and 7 to 12 years), face painting and traditional races just to name a few.

What’s even cooler about the event is that the day will also focus on discovering how we can build a better world for future generations and the important role that children need to play in South Africa. Parenting is quite a daunting task, where our homes serve as training grounds for the future generation that will one day impact the world. What better way then to discover how we can better do this, while still having loads of fun.
