Sidenote:Apologies in advance for the slightly blurry pix, but it was a very hands-on day. 🙂
So this past Sunday, Morgan-Lee and I were invited to spend the morning together at the latest Hasbro’s play experience, out at Canal Walk. It turned out to be just the thing we were looking for.
And with the fun that’s on offer, it may just be the thing YOU’RE looking for during these school holidays – especially since its FREE!
So, the back story is that Mike and I try to ensure we each get quality time with each of our kids, as well as some together time as a family. However, of late, it’s been mostly all together time. As a result, I could tell the threads were starting to snap between Morgy and I, as I’ve had to make extra-extra quality time with her in everything that we did- even carrying her upstairs for any small little thing I had to fetch upstairs – and I had to “carry her like a baby”. I know the signs already, so we immediately made plans for one-on-one time with each of the girls. Mike with Parker-Grace, and Morgan-Lee with me. And this Hasbro play experience out at Canal Walk, with the My little Pony Friendship Land and Nerf or Nothing Blaster Bootcamp, presented the perfect opportunity for us to have some fun time together – just the two of us!
We arrived after 11 am and things were already quite buzzing. We kick started the fun with a friendship bracelet making workshop, which clearly had my little beasty’s full focus. There are ever-helpful assistants who are on hand to assist and encourage, making the little one’s creative process a breeze.
We moved on to some pony fashion play, where you get to create and design your own little pony.
But as per usual, with my darling Morgan-Lee, the Nerf or Nothin’ Blaster Bootcamp was calling her name…loudly!
She rummaged through the blaster selection, and the male assistant asked if she’d like a “small one?” Without blinking or losing eye contact with him, she said “nope” and pulled out a big one, saying, “I like this one”. (LOL – love this child’s spirit! Not the first time she’s refused the “girly” gun). And boy, did she have a blast!! She kept wanting to go over and over again. Sadly( for her), we had to move on to give others a chance at the target practice.
To drown her sorrows, we moved on to the Magic hair station, which was a slow process of helping her get over the fact that her Nerf or Nothing experience was over. But eventually as the lovely ladies spoke to her, she warmed up and enjoyed her magic pony hair. Thereafter she took delight in browsing the gorgeous My little Pony setups in the My Little Pony Equestria, the magical land where the ponies live.
She enjoyed her coloring session, and finished up with her favourite thing: tattoos! (She’s trying desperately to keep it out of the bath water. Shame.)
What you need to know:
-
-It’s FREE – yay!
-It’s at the Centre Court in Canal Walk (next to the Food court)

All in all, a real fun treat to keep girls and boys busy this school holiday! Have you been yet? You better hurry, times running out! Go check them out, and see all the activities and the full offering toys they have!
Thanks, Hasbro for a fun morning with my daughter – time well spent! And thank you even more for making BOTH my girls days with the generous gift. Morgan-Lee was absolutely smug about her Nerf or Nothin Blaster (the exact one she loved), while little Parker-Grace was completely enamoured with her My little Pony set!
Hop on it, folks! x
Lovely post….
