Lauren, the mastermind behind Toy Toggle, got in touch with me recently and was kind enough to give me a test run of their simple yet highly practical baby equipment. In fact, it looked so simple that I didn’t realise how practical and useful it actually was, until I started using it! The fact that it is Proudly South African, already sealed it for me.

See that little blanket with the taglets dangling there in the pic above? Well, meet Blankie. Parker-Grace’s sleep buddy and the key to our sanity. If we ever lost Blankie, may God have mercy on our souls. In fact, it used to be only her sleep buddy, but of late, its been requested in the most oddest of places. So much so Blankie now just treks with us wherever we go. This Toy Toggle couldn’t have come at a better time for us, as it ensures that I never lose Blankie…and that Blankie’s whereabouts are known at all times.
Toy Toggle has become so useful to us as parents, in so many areas like on the car seat, attached to my handbag or Mike’s jeans during grocery shopping, hiking on mountains, on baby’s pram, wherever! Toy Toggle is just one of those nifty little pieces of baby equipment that bring about some welcomed sense of organization to a pretty topsy turvy world of toddlerdom.
Not to mention a little sanity savour too, when it comes to those pesky little germs that are ever ready to infect baby. Dummy constantly being tossed on the floor? Milk or juice bottle rolling around in the muck thanks to yet another session of toddler shotput? Well, with Toy Toggle nicely securing your child’s bottle or cup, hygiene-worries is a thing of the past.
I don’t know what your seating arrangement is like in the car, but I sit at the back with my girls. And Im pretty much like an air hostess in the back there, tending to two highly demanding passengers. From the time the car starts up, they want drinks and snacks left right and center, as well as live entertainment…and my full attention.
Some days I do it all very gracefully, like I totally got this multitasking, stretch myself, and patience overload vibe. But some days, I just don’t. And this is where Ive started to really appreciate Toy Toggle even more in that it creates a bit of independence for my one year old. She is in charge of “Milkies” (ie her milk bottle). If she needs it, she just pulls it up on the Toy Toggle and helps herself, when she’s done, she closes it up and tosses back out of her way. And thanks to Toy Toggle, it doesn’t just land anywhere like it used it, but is now safely and securely to the side of her seat – far from any dust and muck that’s inevitably on the car floor. It really does buy me some peace of mind.
Toy Toggle comes with one silicone band that is 100% flexible and is able to grip almost any size container, as well as three nylon bands of varying length. Without reading any instructions, it didn’t take me long to figure out that you could use all three bands together to either extend the one band or to secure more than one item. It’s so easy to use and figure out, so much so, its applications become quite organic as you work with it.
It can also fit onto most high chairs, sparing you the repetitive joy of having to retrieve that sippy cup or toy for the umpteenth time. And enables you to carry around a bit more, even when your handbag has run out of storage
What’s more is that Toy Toggle is highly durable and totally machine washable, and comes in an array of fun colour combinations! It fits most bottles, sippy cups or snack cups, and still provides a secured attachment even if the fit isn’t as tight. Yup! Its all of that AND a bag of chips!
